Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for a higher supervisory role, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to prepare for future responsibilities, completes basic operations and management skills training, and learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  1. Customer Service
  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS’s customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank).
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills; advanced communication skills; flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends; ability to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 20

Time Type: Part-time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour; actual offer based on experience, education, location, and other factors.
