Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years experience in a criminal justice field or related field, including two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Pre-service correctional officer training completed where applicable; valid state license may be required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of correctional facility management, corrections laws, rules and supervision/training principles.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and manage operations of security staff and inmates/residents on the shift.
• Ensure adequate staffing in areas supervised; cover during short staffing.
• Engage in recruiting, hiring, orienting staff, and other staffing needs for supervised areas.
• Make recommendations on personnel matters and assist in efficient facility resource management.
