Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Three years in a criminal justice field or related field, including two years in a supervisory role.
• Additional education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Must complete basic pre-service correctional officer training where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and manage operations of security staff and inmates on the shift.
• Ensure adequate staffing and cover shortages as needed.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, and orienting staff for supervised areas.
• Make recommendations on personnel matters and help manage facility resources.
