Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking an Assistant Shift Supervisor to support supervision of security staff in a correctional facility. The role will directly supervise officers on the shift, ensuring safety, enforcing post orders and protecting inmates' rights to due process.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, at least three years in criminal justice, one year in corrections, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in a criminal justice field required.
• One year of corrections experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
• No substitutions for required corrections experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Minimum age 21 years.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise assigned security staff on the shift.
• Demonstrate and provide guidance to staff on adherence to safety and security practices and post orders.
• Interpret, enforce and comply with rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and contract requirements.
• Attend meetings to enhance effective communications between management, staff and inmates/residents.
