Job summary

Hogar, Inc. is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee client safety and unit operations within a residential facility. The role focuses on monitoring clients, enforcing safety protocols, and coordinating with supervisors to maintain secure housing environments.

The candidate should hold a NYS Security License with F-80 Certificate of Fitness, CPR/First Aid, and a High School diploma or GED. Strong communication, decision-making, and emergency response capabilities are required.

Qualifications

  • N.Y.S. Security License, F-80 Certificate of Fitness, CPR/Basic First Aid certification.
  • Minimum High School Diploma / G.E.D.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries in working with clients.
  • General knowledge of working in a residential facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to assess emergencies and respond effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the clients, units, and grounds always to ensure the security and safety of each resident.
  • Examine all items entering the facility to ensure client and staff safety; provide crisis prevention and intervention as needed.
  • Record incidents and residents' grievances appropriate in a logbook and on an incident report.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with all department supervisors concerning social services issues.
  • Manage entry logs to ensure all persons entering the facility are recorded and accounted for.
  • Participate in the development of site goals and objectives by making recommendations that can aid in site efficiency.
  • Assist clients with questions and resolve any issues as they may arise.
  • Monitor video surveillance of all areas of the facility.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and fire hazard guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Report any immediate safety hazards to appropriate supervisory personnel or maintenance personnel.
  • Work diplomatically to solve issues that may arise.
  • Provide coverage when necessary.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Perform all other required duties to ensure the facility is running efficiently.
