Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund seeks a Shift/Safety Supervisor for our Hope House in the Bronx, NY. You will supervise Safety Monitors on your shift, monitor safety and civility among clients, visitors and staff, and respond to incidents following DHS and agency protocols.

Daily duties include coordinating patrols, CCTV oversight, intake referrals, and ensuring shelter rules are followed. This role requires security credentials, CPR certification, and strong leadership under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Security license.
  • Must possess a valid F80 credential.
  • Must possess current CPR certification.
  • NYS Driver's license required.
  • 2 years supervisory experience in commercial/residential security or law enforcement, or 5 years as a Private/Personal Security Officer.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with women and children.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Safety Monitors and ensure all safety and security duties are performed per agency protocol.
  • Conduct fire drills and document results.
  • Respond to incidents and follow DHS and agency protocols in responding to and documenting incidents.
  • Report incidents of Child Abuse to the state Central Registry.
  • Interact with HERO and provide updates on unit vacancies and occupancies; accept referrals and conduct initial intake of new families upon arrival to the facility.
  • Ensure Safety Monitors patrol and monitor CCTV, reporting and documenting observations.
  • Assist Safety Monitors in ensuring clients follow shelter rules.
  • Train Safety Monitors in security measures and recommend procedural/equipment changes to the Manager of Building Operations.

The Shift/Safety Supervisor is directly responsible for the management and supervision of the Safety Monitors on duty on their assigned shift for our Hope House location in Bronx, NY. Monitors all activities to ensure safety in the physical plant and civility amongst clients, visitors and staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • SupervisesSafetyMonitorsandensuresallsafetyandsecuritydutiesareperformed as per agency protocol.
  • RespondstoincidentsandfollowsDHSandagencyprotocolsinrespondingtoand documenting incidents.
  • ReportsincidentsofChildAbusetothestateCentralRegistry.
  • InteractswithHEROandprovidesupdatesonunitvacanciesandoccupancies.Accepts referrals and conducts initial intake ofnew families upon arrival tothefacility.
  • EnsuresthatSafetyMonitorsconductpatrolsandaremonitoringtheCCTVcamera system and are reporting and documenting observations.
