Job summary

HomeFirst is seeking a Part Time Shift Supervisor for the Navigation HUB in San Jose, CA. This role supervises Resident Advocates, enforces site rules, and ensures service delivery standards at a low-barrier shelter site.

The position supports program operations, scheduling, and staff development to maintain a safe environment for participants. The role requires high school education, strong communication, and the ability to work day shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience working in nonprofit or social services is preferred.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage shifts, including weekends.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including days, weekends, and overnights as needed.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and document incidents promptly.

Responsibilities

• Direct client service and supervision of Resident Advocates.
• Ensure staffing requirements per shift are met.
• Enforce HUB guidelines and site rules for participants.
• Assist with administrative duties for the Program Manager (scheduling, reports).
• Supervise workshops and coordinate activities for participants.
• Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and safety protocols.
