Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing assigned tasks to develop supervisory skills, completing basic management training, and learning about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support the store management team by driving store performance and enhancing customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff
   • Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
   • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank customers)
   • Handle customer relations issues per company policy and ensure positive shopping experiences
   • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. The role requires retail experience, deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, and advanced communication skills. Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime is necessary.
