Job description

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop supervisory skills, completes basic management training, and gains knowledge about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through excellent service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in executing store operations and enhancing performance while fostering customer loyalty. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads staff, ensures smooth store operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

1. Management

• Work effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise store staff through assigning, directing, and following up on activities
• Communicate effectively with management and staff

Customer Service

• Assist customers with questions, issues, and complaints
• Promote CVS's customer service culture (Greet, offer help, thank)
• Handle customer relations in accordance with company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in retail preferred
• Strong deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed

Compensation: The pay range reflects the base hourly rate or full-time annual salary, with actual offers depending on experience, education, location, and other factors.
