Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Shift Supervisor for the 2nd shift at our New Berlin facilities. You will plan hour-by-hour production activities, lead a team of manufacturing associates, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time shipments.

You will coordinate with Engineering and Quality, monitor run times, and provide technical support on the floor. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are required, with Lean or safety experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years’ experience in a high mix/low volume metal fabrication manufacturing environment required.
• 3+ years’ experience leading/supervising small groups (Team Leader, Group Leader, Supervisor) required.
• Extensive technical knowledge of how machines operate (metal forming, machining, welding, general assembly) preferred.
• Exposure to Lean Management or advanced safety concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize hour-by-hour activities for 2nd shift manufacturing associates; leverage Lead personnel to meet goals.
• Provide technical support on the production floor by resolving issues as they arise.
• Ensure adherence to daily department schedules to meet shipments consistently.
• Monitor run times and process improvements; audit paperwork and work instructions for accuracy.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality and other support areas on production issues.
• Review jobs prior to submittal for final inspection; ensure parts are to print and counts are correct.
• Oversee set-ups to meet production schedule; enforce safety policies.
• Communicate status and hand-off information to 1st shift; support problem-solving.
• Use analytics to drive data-driven production decisions; participate in continuous improvement.
