Job description

AutoZone's Full-Time Shift Supervisors assist the Store Manager with leading company initiatives and ensuring maximum productivity, training high-performing AutoZoners in a safe environment, driving sales, controlling expenses and shrink, and remaining compliant with company procedures in accordance with AutoZone’s expectations. Shift Supervisors exceed customer expectations by delivering a WOW! Customer shopping experience on assigned shifts by Living the Pledge every day.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist Store Manager with supervising, training, and developing store personnel
  • Assume responsibility for store operation and the commercial department in the absence of the Commercial Sales Manager and Store Manager, on assigned shifts
  • Help manage the Commercial and Hub Departments to ensure service and delivery commitments are met
  • Delegate and ensure timely completion of store merchandising tasks
  • Operate cash registers and handle cash responsibilities, including deposits and petty cash
  • Follow all company policies and loss prevention procedures
  • Utilize ZNET to assist customers in locating merchandise or alternatives
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure AutoZoners follow safety practices including PPE
  • Monitor cash flow, inventory, and security
  • Maintain store appearance, sales productivity, and merchandising standards
  • Conduct opening and closing procedures
  • Manage emergency situations and conduct proper emergency procedures
  • Follow accident procedures
  • Provide performance feedback to the store manager
  • Assist in monitoring and managing Risk & Safety activities
  • Address and resolve customer concerns, aiming to turn complaints into compliments
  • Process returns and manage inventory effectively
  • Communicate AutoZoner issues and concerns to the Store Manager promptly and confidentially
  • Motivate AutoZoners to provide WOW! Customer Service, increase productivity, and promote sales and profits

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • ASE Certification preferred
  • High integrity
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to drive customer service
