Job summary

Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education is hiring for a full-time Shift Supervisor at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. The role oversees a shift, ensures policy compliance, and directs staff to meet quality, safety, and service standards.

Schedule varies (Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat), primarily nights. Pay ranges from $22 to $26 per hour; an internal referral bonus is available. We offer free uniform, employee meals, and ongoing training for development.

Qualifications

• Prior high-volume food service and customer service experience preferred.
• ServSafe required.
• Ability to direct and train associates on a shift.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of associates during a specific shift and oversee that assigned job expectations are completed while policy and procedure is maintained.
• Provide training and create work schedules.
• Evaluate performance and reward or discipline accordingly.
• Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure quality, productivity and safety targets are met.
• Serve as the point of contact for employee requests and time-off.
• Mentor and develop employees and encourage advancement within the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing training and creating work schedules.
• Evaluating the performance of workers, rewarding high performers and disciplining employees who fail to meet reasonable standards of work performance.
• Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure their unit meets the expectations for quality, productivity and safety.
• Acts as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
• May act as a mentor, develop employees and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement within the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
