Job summary

Children's Rescue Fund in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Shift Supervisor to manage Safety Monitors on the assigned shift, ensure safety and civility, and enforce shelter rules. This full-time position requires a NYS driver’s license, CPR certification, a security license, and prior supervisory experience.

The role involves coordinating with DHS, responding to incidents, conducting drills, and maintaining documentation including desk logs and incident reports. Evening hours are Tue–Sat, 4:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Qualifications

  • Must possess Security license.
  • Must possess an F80.
  • Must possess current CPR certification.
  • NYS Driver's license required.
  • Two (2) years of Supervisory experience in commercial/residential security or law enforcement, or Five (5) years' experience as a Private/Personal Security Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Safety Monitors and ensures safety and security duties are performed as per agency protocol.
  • Conducts fire drills and documents results.
  • Responds to incidents and follows DHS and agency protocols in responding to and documenting incidents.
  • Reports incidents of Child Abuse to the state Central Registry.
  • Interacts with HERO and provides updates on unit vacancies and occupancies; accepts referrals and conducts initial intake of new families upon arrival to the facility.
  • Answers facility phone and directs calls.
  • Ensures Safety Monitors conduct patrols and monitor the CCTV system; reports and documents observations.
  • Assists Safety Monitors in ensuring clients follow shelter rules while in the facility.
  • Trains Safety Monitors in security measures and recommends procedural/equipment changes to the Manager of Building Operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares/conducts Employee Appraisal Evaluations in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Prepares and audits Incident/Accident Reports.
  • Maintains and schedules vans daily usage.
  • Completes end-of-shift reports and emails report to Manager of Operations, the Program Director, and DSS/Asst. Director.
  • Oversee and supervise department staff in the utilization of the DHS Client Assistance and Re-housing System (CARES) for Intake Check-In, Incident Reports, and Facility Bed Management.

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:
