Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund is seeking a full-time Shift/Safety Supervisor for Hope House in Bronx, NY. You will supervise Safety Monitors, conduct drills, respond to incidents, and coordinate with DHS and CARES systems to manage client intake and bed occupancy.

This role requires security licenses, CPR, a valid NYS driver’s license, and supervisory experience. The position emphasizes safety, protocol adherence, and professional conduct in a challenging shelter environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess Security license.
• Must possess an F80.
• Must possess CPR certification.
• NYS Driver's license required.
• Two years of supervisory experience in security or five years as Private/Personal Security Officer.
• Must have good communication skills, experience working with women and children.
• Exhibits superior professionalism at all times, even under pressure.
• Must successfully complete background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Safety Monitors and ensures all safety and security duties per agency protocol.
• Conducts fire drills and documents results.
• Responds to incidents and follows DHS and agency protocols.
• Reports incidents of Child Abuse to the state Central Registry.
• Interacts with HERO and provides updates on unit vacancies and occupancies; accepts referrals and conducts initial intake.
• Answers facility phone and directs calls.
• Ensures Safety Monitors patrol and monitor CCTV, and report observations.
• Assists Safety Monitors in ensuring clients follow shelter rules.
• Trains Safety Monitors in security measures and recommends changes in procedures/equipment to the Manager of Building Operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Daily audit of Safety Monitor and Supervisor logs for accuracy and content.
• Prepares and conducts Employee Appraisals and prepares Incident/Accident Reports.
• Maintains and schedules vans daily usage.
• Completes end-of-shift reports and emails to Manager of Operations, Program Director and DSS/Asst. Director.
• Oversees CARES system intake, incident reports and bed management.

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

The Shift/Safety Supervisor is directly responsible for the management and supervision of the Safety Monitors on duty on their assigned shift for our Hope House location in Bronx, NY. Monitors all activities to ensure safety in the physical plant and civility amongst clients, visitors and staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• SupervisesSafetyMonitorsandensuresallsafetyandsecuritydutiesareperformed as per agency protocol.
• Conductsfiredrillsanddocumentsresults.
• RespondstoincidentsandfollowsDHSandagencyprotocolsinrespondingtoand documenting incidents.
• ReportsincidentsofChildAbusetothestateCentralRegistry.
• InteractswithHEROandprovidesupdatesonunitvacanciesandoccupancies.Accepts referrals and conducts initial intake ofnew families upon arrival tothefacility.
• Answerfacilityphoneanddirectscalls.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• MustpossessSecuritylicense.
• MustpossessanF80.
• MustpossesscurrentCPRcertification.
• NYS Driver'slicense required.
• Two(2)yearsofSupervisory experienceincommercial/residentialsecurityorlaw enforcement, orFive(5)years' experience asaPrivate/PersonalSecurity Officer.
• Mustgavegoodcommunicationskills,experienceworkingwithwomenandchildren.
• Exhibitsuperiorprofessionalismatalltimes,evenwhenunderpressureorexperiencing challenges with the clients.
