SUMMARY

The Shift Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of production workers, production lines and daily projects to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency while maintaining quality and safety standards.

  1. Supervise production workers to ensure the smooth running of the production process for assigned shift(s).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Works under the direction of the General Foreman, Production Superintendent or designee to ensure quantity and quality of production. Supervises production workers of assigned shift(s).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or recognized equivalent, with 2 to 3 years of working in a manufacturing environment. Qualification on subordinate-level jobs required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Some computer experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with employees or organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate proportions, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  11. Walking through, under and around equipment with a clearance of thirty (30) inches.
  12. Ability to feel objects, textures, size, and shapes and determine temperature by touching of skin, primarily that of finger tips.
  13. Ability to grasp tools and use them in a safe manner working manner to avoid injury to self or fellow employees.
  14. Sight capabilities to safely operate at arms' length machinery and power and /or hand tools needed to accomplish assigned job requirements.
