Rhodes Wolfe is seeking a Food Production 2nd Shift Supervisor for a fast-paced, high-volume snack food manufacturing environment. The role reports to the Plant Manager and directs 15–25 union production employees across multiple facilities, focusing on production, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

90% of the day is on the production floor, monitoring lines, supporting operators, and solving real-time issues.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as supervisor/team lead in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills are required.
• Familiarity with GMP, food safety, and quality standards is required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed by business demand.

Responsibilities

• Lead 15-25 union production employees; coach, counsel, lead, and train to accountability goals.
• Plan daily staffing/production activities to meet customer demands and schedules.
• Ensure production lines have materials and resources to operate efficiently.
• Verify production records and maintain accurate data within production systems.
• Partner with Quality to ensure products meet standards.
• Maintain safety, food safety, and GMP compliance on the floor.
• Provide schedule flexibility to support operational needs, including weekends.

Food Production 2nd Shift Supervisor (High-Volume Manufacturing Exp Req) Description

Our client in the food-manufacturing industry is looking for a 2nd Shift Supervisor to add to their team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead 15-25 union production employees across a fast-paced, high-volume snack food manufacturing environment – 500 million packages per year across 3 facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations, supervising plant employees, and ensuring production, quality, safety, and customer delivery goals are achieved. This is a floor-first role: 90% of your day is on the production floor walking lines, monitoring equipment, supporting operators, and solving problems in real time. Our client promotes from within — 95% of their management team started on the floor — and this role is a genuine steppingstone into plant leadership for the right candidate.

Food Production 2nd Shift Supervisor (High-Volume Manufacturing Exp Req) Responsibilities

• Lead 15-25 union production employees; coach, counsel, lead, and train to accountability goals
• Plan daily staffing/production activities to meet customer demands and production schedules
• Ensure production lines have the necessary materials and resources to operate efficiently
• Verify production records and maintain accurate data within production systems
• Partner with Quality to ensure products meet company and customer quality standards
• Establish strategic goals, define course of action, objectives, and evaluate outcomes
• Ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, food quality, and GMP requirements
• Communicate production updates and collaborate with plant leadership and internal teams
• Assist with inventory of finished goods, raw materials, and packaging supplies as needed
• Participate in meetings, continuous improvement projects, and other duties as assigned
• Provide schedule flexibility to support operational needs, including weekends/shift coverage
