Job description

MHA is hiring immediately for a Shift Supervisor. The Shift Supervisor will work alongside the program supervisor, providing leadership and support to residential staff to empower participants in achieving their recovery and rehabilitation goals. The role involves supporting staff with a strength-based, person-centered approach, modeling positive interactions, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Schedule:

Sunday-Thursday 10am-6pm

Position's Essential Functions:
Supervisory
  • Supervise and support a team of relief residential support specialists, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Assist staff with challenges, monitor physical well-being, and model engagement techniques.
  • Conduct supervision meetings, monitor attendance, and support staff evaluations and training.
Administrative
  • Ensure documentation compliance, respond to emergencies, and facilitate communication among disciplines.
  • Attend workshops and training programs.
Participant Support and Advocacy
  • Engage and empower participants, support activities of daily living, and facilitate access to community resources.
  • Support participants in financial management, transportation, and household tasks.
  • Utilize online reporting systems and facilitate psycho-educational groups.
Participant Health and Wellbeing
  • Use trauma-informed approaches, respond to crises, and support participants in managing triggers.
  • Report incidents of abuse and administer medications per standards.
Teamwork and Communication
  • Participate in team meetings, pursue professional development, and foster a positive team environment.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and work cooperatively.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and demonstrate patience and compassion.
  • Pass certifications in medication administration, CPR, and first aid.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum six months related experience; one year preferred.
