Job summary

Sonoco in Pine Bluff, AR is seeking a Shift Supervisor responsible for safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance on the assigned shift. You will lead hourly employees, coach and develop the team, and coordinate production scheduling to meet customer demands.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools like SPS, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing while managing overtime and inventory to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, science or engineering is strongly preferred.
• At least 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to work night shift from 7pm–7am, Mon–Thu with OT on Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Teach and lead the safety process and best manufacturing practices for assigned shift.
• Coordinate production scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.
• Direct shift in continuous improvement initiatives and work to meet performance metrics using SPS, 6 Sigma, Kaizen events and lean manufacturing.
• Build and maintain productive relationships that foster employee engagement and satisfaction.
• Provide direction, training, and development of hourly employees on assigned shift as well as counseling or discipline as needed.
• Identify, propose, and implement capital projects to improve operational performance

Role Summary

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role is from $93,600 to $105,300, plus quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
