Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Union, SC is seeking an Inspector Packer I to join our manufacturing team. The role involves collaborating with plant teams, visually inspecting molded parts for defects, and performing post-molding operations such as buffing and deburring.

You will also pack parts with proper labeling and quantities, report non-conforming products, and maintain production records. Applicants should have manufacturing experience or training, the ability to read standard work

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring.
  • Arrive to work on time with a strong attendance record.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing.
  • Check molded or extruded parts visually for quality defects as outlined by the quality requirements.
  • Performs post-molding/extrusion operations such as buffing, scraping, deburring, assembly, etc., as assigned.
  • Packs quality parts in the appropriate cartons with correct labeling and quantities.
  • Segregates and reports non-conforming product according to procedures.
  • Maintains proper accounting and recording of production data such as run records, scrap sheets, etc.
  • Records SPC/SQC data where applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Overtime required at times.

Position: Inspector Packer I Location: Union, SC Wage: $20.34 / Hourly Plus .60 cent Shift differential Shifts Available: 2nd Shift Hours: 3 PM - 11 PM

What You’ll Be Doing:
