Job summary

Sonoco in Pine Bluff, AR, is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee safety, quality and productivity on the night shift. You will lead hourly staff, coordinate shift production and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer demands.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will develop the team, implement lean practices, manage costs, and pursue capex projects to enhance operational performance. This role requires a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, science or engineering preferred.
• At least 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to work night shift 7pm–7am, Mon–Thu with OT on Fridays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Teach and lead the safety process and best manufacturing practices for the assigned shift.
• Coordinate production scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.
• Direct shift in continuous improvement initiatives and work to meet performance metrics using tools such as SPS, 6 Sigma, Kaizen events and lean manufacturing.
• Build and maintain productive relationships that foster employee engagement and satisfaction.
• Provide direction, training, and development of hourly employees on the assigned shift and counsel or discipline as needed.
• Identify, propose, and implement capital projects to improve operational performance.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, as a Shift Supervisor, you are accountable for safety, quality, productivity, material handling, cost performance and employee for assigned shift.

• Ability to work night shift from 7pm - 7am, Monday - Thursday and OT on Friday's as needed.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role is from $93,600 to $105,300, plus quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
