Job summary

The GEO Group is hiring for a Security Monitor role within a residential re-entry center. The position coordinates administrative and operational security on a shift, leading staff to ensure proper coverage and safety.

Responsibilities include overseeing post orders, counts, staff training, incident reporting, and daily logs. Candidates should demonstrate leadership, English writing skills, and the ability to work varied shifts in a correctional environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year as Monitor I or two years related experience preferred.
• Must hold a current and active driver’s license.
• Familiar with community correctional operations, laws and supervision practices.
• Ability to write legible reports in English with proper grammar.
• Ability to plan, motivate, schedule, and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Ability to work any assigned shift.
• Ability to work with computers and related software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates administrative and operational security on a specific shift in a residential re-entry center.
• Leads staff during shift to ensure adequate security coverage.
• Directs monitors and residents in duties, trains new employees, and manages schedules.
• Reports suspected unauthorized activity to Security Manager or Facility Director.
• Maintains daily logs and facility checks; oversees staffing levels.
• Participates in staff evaluations and training requirements.
• Ensures safety practices and incident reporting per policy.
• Communicates clearly with staff, residents, visitors and the public.
