Job summary

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, seeks Operations Shift Technical Advisors to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The role provides technical expertise and real-time decision support to the Shift Manager and facility operations during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations, ensuring adherence to Safety Basis requirements and approved operating limits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
• High School Diploma with combination of education and/or relevant experience accepted.
• Current SRS Control Room Manager qualification or Current SRS First Line Manager Operations qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical advice and decision support to the Shift Manager during facility operations.
• Supports determination of Safety Basis impacts during abnormal/emergency events and provides Safety Basis training.
• Presents technical briefings describing approved operations and compliance methods.
• Monitors facility conditions and takes action to ensure safe operation.
• Evaluates technical information and recommends operational actions.
• Identifies conditions affecting facility safety or mission operations.
• Interprets DSA/TSRs/LCOs and applies safety controls.
• Ensures proper implementation of Safety Basis requirements on shift.
• Advises on conditions near safety limits and inside the safety envelope.
• Performs Safety Basis related reviews and maintains SRMS documentation.
• Provides input on potential USQs and configuration changes.
• Performs as Operations Implementation Coordinator for Safety Basis changes.
