Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Clinical Coordinator (RN) to lead nursing operations on a shift basis, coordinating staffing and directing patient care. You will support interdisciplinary collaboration, drive quality and efficiency, and participate in committees to improve outcomes.

The position requires a BSN (or equivalent nursing degree), Illinois RN licensure, and a minimum of two years in a clinical specialty, with CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.
• Two or more years in clinical specialty.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.
• NMH Magnet certification preferred or obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations on a shift basis according to policy and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates unit-based staffing assignments to achieve high-quality care.
• Directs patient care provided by staff nurses and support personnel for a shift.
• Champions new initiatives and participates in committees or task forces.
• Communicates with patients and families about nursing care.
• Ensures safe, high-quality and efficient care and monitors patient responses.
