We are seeking a hands‑on Sanitation Manager to lead sanitation activities within a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, equipment sanitation, and facility hygiene while leading and developing the sanitation team.
The ideal candidate will have prior sanitation leadership experience in food manufacturing and be comfortable working directly on the production floor. This person should be able to lead employees, manage schedules, support hiring and onboarding, conduct performance reviews, coach team members, and ensure sanitation procedures are consistently followed.
This position is primarily 2nd shift, with flexibility to support other shifts as needed.
Lead and oversee daily sanitation activities throughout the production facility
Maintain high standards of facility cleanliness, food safety, and equipment sanitation
Monitor production areas and identify sanitation concerns or deficiencies
Ensure sanitation procedures, policies, and standards are consistently followed
Oversee the cleaning, sanitizing, disassembly, and reassembly of production equipment
Respond quickly to sanitation calls, contamination events, and related production issues to help minimize downtime
Interview, onboard, train, coach, and develop sanitation employees
Prepare work schedules and coordinate sanitation staffing needs
Conduct employee performance reviews and annual evaluations
Provide ongoing coaching and corrective feedback when needed
Maintain daily sanitation reports, recaps, records, and other required documentation
Use computer systems to complete reports and track sanitation activities
Promote strong safety and housekeeping practices throughout the department
Identify unsafe conditions and work with the appropriate teams to correct them
Ensure tools, sanitation equipment, chemicals, and supplies are used safely and efficiently
Establish and document sanitation goals and monitor progress
Address and correct sanitation-related non-conformities identified through quality or food safety programs
Partner with production and other departments to maintain a clean and safe manufacturing environment
Report injuries, accidents, unsafe conditions, or sanitation concerns promptly
Previous sanitation leadership experience within a food manufacturing or food processing environment
Strong knowledge of industrial sanitation practices and food safety standards
Experience leading, coaching, scheduling, and developing employees
Comfortable working hands‑on in a production environment
Experience cleaning and sanitizing food production equipment
Ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment according to sanitation procedures
Comfortable using a computer for daily reports, documentation, and communication
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to respond quickly to sanitation or contamination-related issues
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Must be able to understand and speak English
Reliable transportation required
Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to work primarily 2nd shift and support 3rd or other shifts when needed
Primarily 2nd Shift, with flexibility required based on production and sanitation needs.
