Job summary

Dairy-Farmers-of-America,-Inc. seeks a sanitation supervisor for the 2nd shift in Wisconsin.

You will supervise sanitation staff, ensure GMPs, SSOPs, and sanitation standards are met, and act as a resource to direct reports. You will coach, mentor, and develop team performance, collaborate with DFA operations, QA, and chemical suppliers, and drive continuous improvement in sanitation programs while upholding safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in food science or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
• 2 to 5 years sanitation or related experience with leadership attributes; supervisor experience preferred.
• Certification and/or License may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign and monitor work; provide clear direction to sanitation employees.
• Train staff on sanitation standards, GMPs, SSOPs; enforce policies.
• Implement and maintain sanitation programs; ensure compliance with standards.
• Analyze and resolve work problems; assist workers in solving issues.
• Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate sanitation activities.
• Conduct audits of CIP processes to ensure SSOP compliance.
• Recommend measures to improve sanitation methods and equipment performance.
• Manage relationships with outside vendors (e.g., chemical suppliers).
• Work cross-functionally with DFA operations, QA&C and vendors; drive KPI improvements.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Follow DFA GMPs and regulatory requirements; adapt to changing processes.

Job description

Directly supervise employees engaged in activities to ensure that operations meet sanitation requirements for machinery, equipment, and/or facilities in accordance with the company’s policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws. Ensure that sanitation, quality, and department efficiencies are maintained at or above standards. Function as a resource and point of escalation to direct reports. Coach, mentor, and provide performance development opportunities to team members on an ongoing basis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign and monitor work, and provide clear direction to santitation employees to meet the needs of the business. Ensure effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action, and performance management
• Train and instruct employees in regard to sanitation standards, good manufacturing practices (GMPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures ( SSOPs), and objectives. Oversee instruction, implementation, and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees
• Implement and maintain sanitation programs and ensure compliance with company standards and directives
• Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems
• Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate activities to identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting sanitation
• Conduct audits of sanitation and clean-in-place (CIP) processes to ensure compliance with SSOP's
• Recommend measures to continuously improve sanitation methods, equipment performance, and quality of products produced and distributed by the facility
• Validate SSOP's annually or when systems are modified
• Manage relationships with outside vendors (e.g., chemical supplier)
• Working cross functionally and collaboratively with DFA operations, QA&C and chemical supply vendors, develop, implement, and continuously improve on sanitation programs, policies, and key performance indicators (KPI's)
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in food science or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
• 2 to 5 years sanitation or related experience coupled with demonstrated leadership attributes or team leadership experience; supervisor experience preferred
• Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
