Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. in Silver Bay, MN, is seeking a Shift Manager Operations to direct and monitor the performance of the Operations crews for the Fine Crusher & Concentrator or Pellet Plant.

You will lead safety-focused supervision and drive daily production goals. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, implement safety and environmental standards, manage scheduling and training, and report on department performance at daily meetings.

Qualifications

• Vocational degree or equivalent work experience.
• Previous successful leadership experience.
• Knowledge of safety, MSHA rules and environmental policies.
• Strong communication and leadership to direct operations and maintenance crews.
• Ability to handle conflicts and build trust with employees.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to plan and coordinate multiple tasks across teams and contractors.
• Effective decision-making and coaching of employees.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor performance of operations crews in defined areas.
• Lead weekly safety and information meetings.
• Coach and develop crews to meet safety and productivity goals.
• Communicate operational plans and task assignments to all crew members.
• Manage personnel: performance, scheduling, overtime, and training.
• Coordinate weekly area projects across departments to maximize results.
• Review process metrics and report at daily operations meetings.
• Investigate safety incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure equipment and areas are maintained to standard.
• Prioritize daily break-in work with maintenance teams.
• Support business improvement efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.
