Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. invites applications for a Shift Manager Operations at the Northshore Mining Company facility in Silver Bay, MN. You will direct and monitor operations crews handling the Fine Crusher & Concentrator or Pellet Plant, ensuring safety, productivity, and adherence to procedures.

You will coach and develop staff, communicate plans, and manage metrics and daily production meetings, while prioritizing maintenance with maintenance leads and driving improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have a vocational degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience leading operations and maintenance crews.
• Knowledge of safety, MSHA rules and environmental policies.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to plan and coordinate multiple tasks across departments and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor the performance of Operations crews in the Fine Crusher & Concentrator or Pellet Plant.
• Lead safety and environmental practices; conduct safety and information meetings.
• Coach, direct, and develop technicians to meet safety and productivity goals.
• Communicate operational plans, assign tasks, and coordinate across departments.
• Review critical process metrics and report outcomes at daily meetings.
• Document and investigate incidents; participate in corrective actions.
• Ensure equipment and work areas are maintained to standard.
• Prioritize and coordinate break-in work with maintenance managers and crews.
• Support and lead business improvement efforts.
