Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Northshore Mining in Silver Bay, MN seeks a Section Manager Maintenance to lead Fine Crusher and Concentrator maintenance teams, ensuring safe, scheduled and unscheduled work according to maintenance standards.

You will manage planning, budgeting, and reliability efforts, coordinate with operations, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Related Bachelor degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or other related degree – OR related 2-year Vocational or AA degree with a minimum of 5 years industry related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years working experience in related maintenance work with mobile and fixed assets.
• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience with salaried and hourly workforce and demonstrated ability to lead a group to work in a safe and productive manner.
• Budget preparation and ability to prepare operating and capital plans for short and long-range plans.
• Champions of safe production and promote continuous improvement.
• Must understand and communicate safety, MSHA rules, environmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision for the Plant Maintenance leadership team in Fine Crusher and Concentrator.
• Manage the planning and input into scheduling within the plant’s goals and budget.
• Attend Plant L3 meetings and report on maintenance projects, repairs, and budget updates.
• Develop and present a maintenance budget for senior management approval.
• Coordinate reliability initiatives to improve equipment performance.
• Oversee maintenance planning with procurement and monitor vendor performance.
• Lead training requirements for each maintenance group.
• Assist in long-term staffing planning with the Plant Maintenance Area Manager.
• Oversee outages and annual downtime within scope and budget.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with safety and environmental policies.
