321 Coffee is hiring a Shift Manager for our Raleigh locations to lead daily cafe operations and deliver an inclusive, upbeat guest experience. This full-time role involves managing staff, opening/closing shifts, supervising drinks and catering orders, and coordinating with other managers to keep the shop running smoothly.

Job Summary and Mission

321 Coffee is a coffee shop and roaster built on inclusion. We aim to provide meaningful work experiences to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We believe in doing business the right way, and we’re looking for an individual who shares this passion for inclusion and belonging.

321 Coffee is growing, and we are excited to hire upbeat, caring, and proactive doers to champion the 321 experience in our cafes. This role is for someone who loves to work with other people, take ownership of the shop’s day-to-day needs, and find enjoyment while doing it all. You will work alongside some of the best baristas and work with other managers to achieve operational success. The Shift Manager is essential to executing the inner workings of each location during a shift to create a fun experience that is inclusive to all.

Shift Managers will have a “home” location where they take responsibility for that shop's staff and operations. Shift Managers will be available and sometimes expected to cover shifts at other 321 Coffee locations.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Open and close shop
• Oversee team to take and prepare excellent drinks, products, and catering orders
• Lead and develop employees
• Ensure work safety and cleanliness
• Keep the shop running efficiently by anticipating any needs
• Create a welcoming environment for guests and our team
• Engage with others to share the 321 Coffee mission
• Assist in scheduling employees and overseeing swap/drop requests
• Assist in monitoring/restocking inventory + maintaining vendor relationships
• Attend scheduled manager meetings
• Support the on-call rotation
• Other duties as assigned by Company

Basic Qualifications

• Prior experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs for restocking inventory
• Ability to move kegs weighing up to 50 lbs

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Eager to learn new skills and request help when needed
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to lead and develop a diverse team
• Engage with customers and provide outstanding customer service
• Attend required shifts and maintain punctuality
• Ability to use and troubleshoot point-of-sale technology
• Ability to learn and use Microsoft products (specifically Outlook, Teams, and Excel) and 7Shifts scheduling software
• Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or experience in the food & beverage or customer service industry is a plus

Compensation

$17.50 an hour + tips (previously between $4.00 - $7.00 an hour)
