Steak 'n Shake is seeking a Shift Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations, drive top-tier guest service, and coach a high-performing team. The role emphasizes accountability, timely openings/closings, and maintaining brand standards in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate brings supervisory experience in restaurants, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to safety and hospitality. This position is on-site with competitive hourly wages and market perks.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Experience in restaurant supervisory or management roles is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities essential for team motivation.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations with energy, confidence, and accountability
• Ensure strong openings and closings by setting up the team for success
• Set the tone for the shift - motivate and coach team members for success
• Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service that exceeds guest expectations
• Ensure all brand standards are met - cleanliness, food safety, and quality
• Handle opening and closing duties, including key-holder responsibilities
• Count drawers, manage deposits, and finalize end-of-day reports
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members
• Support training and onboarding of new team members
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on trust and respect
• Step into any station as needed to keep operations running smoothly
