Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee overall shift operations, guest experience, sales performance, and brand execution in a busy store setting.

In the absence of the manager, you will lead the team to deliver outstanding guest service, enforce operating policies, and ensure food safety and cash controls are maintained on all shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team on shifts.
• Knowledge of food safety and cost controls.
• Excellent guest service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead team on shifts, assign tasks, provide feedback and training.
• Use the huddle board to position the team and follow policies, labor laws and safety procedures.
• Ensure security procedures, open/close procedures, and related controls.
• Transition into opening and closing duties.
• Provide exceptional guest service to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Resolve guest complaints and issues.
• Lead team to open, transition, and close shifts.
• Manage line and delegate duties to team members.
• Uphold product quality standards.
• Assist on the line as needed.
• Promote sales through suggestive selling and promotions knowledge.
• Execute and support food safety requirements.
• Control costs, labor, waste, and cash on shift.
• Count drawers and follow cash handling procedures.
• Complete required e-learning.

Job description

As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for the overall shift operations, guest experience, sales performance, and execution of brand excellence in a store. In the absence of the manager, the shift leader effectively leads the team to execute great guest service and follows operating policies and procedures.

The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned from time to time or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands so please discuss the job responsibilities with the Owner and/or his/her designee. He/She/They will review the essential job functions, which are normally defined as the fundamental activities conducted on a daily or regular basis that will affect the success of the restaurant.

• Lead team members on shifts, including assigning tasks (cleaning, line duties, opening/closing duties), providing feedback and training
• Utilize the huddle board to effectively position the teamKnow and support appropriate personnel policies, labor laws and safety procedures
• Ensure all security procedures are executed (safe procedures, open/close procedures etc.)
• Transition into opening/closing duties
• Make guests really happy by providing great guest service
• Resolve guest complaints/issues
• Lead team members to open, transition, and close shifts
• Manage and organize the line and delegate duties to team members
• Know and uphold standards for product quality
• Work the line as needed
