Overview
Join to apply for the Shift Manager role at RaceTrac. Responsible for supporting the General Manager and Co-Manager in overseeing the profitability for one RaceTrac store on designated shifts. While leading the shift, you will deliver on RaceTrac’s mission of making lives simpler and more enjoyable through friendly service, food execution, clean focus, leading talent, and driving success.
Responsibilities
- Friendly: Provide courteous, frictionless, and elevated experience for guests.
- Guest relations: Foster positive and professional relationships with co-workers and guests; communicate respectfully and maintain a consistent team-oriented attitude.
- Operational execution: Efficiently complete guest transactions at the cash register or self-checkout stations and suggest products that complement purchases; address and mitigate guest concerns on designated shifts with urgency and involve appropriate regional team members as needed.
- Food safety and offers: Direct, monitor, and adhere to all RaceTrac, federal, state, and local safety-related regulations, including food safety regulations; ensure that all food offers are available.
- Cleanliness and presentation: Ensure the store is clean and fully stocked to provide an elevated guest experience; execute shift duties, maintain overall presentation standards, and represent the RaceTrac brand; clean food preparation areas and equipment to RaceTrac standards.
- Leading talent: Demonstrate RaceTrac"s Core Values of Honesty, Efficiency, Positive Attitude, Respect, and Teamwork; lead coaching, training, and assessment of direct reports while adhering to operational standards; provide feedback and recommendations on employee performance and development to the General Manager.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed
- 2-3 years’ work experience preferred
- 1+ years management experience preferred
- Experience in a high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environment preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Takes initiative
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly bend, stand, and reach; may require standing for long periods
- May be required to obtain and maintain food handler permit, based on local or state requirements
- May be required to obtain and maintain alcohol server permit, based on local or state requirements
