Job summary

Applebee's is seeking a Shift Leader to help run daily restaurant operations and support the General or Assistant Manager. You will lead team members, coach performance, and drive training initiatives to ensure smooth shifts and excellent guest experiences.

The role demands strong leadership, communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Familiarity with a POS system and ServSafe certification preferred.
• Availability to work within open hours (evenings, holidays, weekends).
• Strong knowledge of team leadership and positive conflict resolution.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Communication and team management abilities.
• Able to withstand the physical demands of a restaurant environment.

Job Descriptions

Our Shift Leaders are the key to operating our restaurants daily. You will help support the General and/or Assistant Manager, ensuring that every shift operates smoothly. You will also help team members through performance and training initiatives. Your ability to provide exceptional customer service will keep our customers coming back for more.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry items up to 70 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods (up to an entire shift)

• Work in varying environments including hot kitchen areas and walk‑in coolers/freezers
• Communicate clearly with employees, guests, vendors, and leadership teams
