Job summary

Shutterfly is seeking a Shift Manager for a 4th shift (Thu-Sun, 4pm-4am) in Fort Mill, SC. Oversight of production flow, quality, packaging and daily operations is required. Salary range is $68K-$70K with reporting to the Production Manager.

The role emphasizes leadership, metrics reporting, labor planning, and continuous improvement across manufacturing processes, while ensuring safety and adherence to OSHA standards. Experience with digital press facilities and MS Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of supervision experience with 15+ direct reports.
• Digital press, bindery, or technical experience is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to write concise operation reports with supporting exhibits.
• Project and Process Management skills required.
• Formal Process Improvement Training (Lean/Six Sigma) preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel and MRP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management across printing, manufacturing, packaging, fulfillment, and related areas.

• Plan labor requirements and allocate resources.

Salary range: $68K-$70K

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Manager oversees the production flow, overall quality, merchandising and packaging portion of the daily operation of the manufacturing production facility.

What You’ll Do Here

• Provides general leadership and management to all types of printing processes, manufacturing, packaging, fulfillment, and other areas.
• Report on daily / weekly / monthly metrics
• Perform assigned duties that fall within the scope of this job as defined by the Manufacturing Manager.
• Plant performance measurements and reporting
• Responsible for labor planning
• Implementation of new systems, policies and procedures
• Promote and drive quality process
• Responsible for safety in all areas such as processing and behavioral
• Adherence to OSHA policies and standards
• Timely execution of assigned tasks
• Developing the team
• Interact closely with other departments outside of operations
• Driving continuous improvement

The Skills You’ll Bring

• Preferred candidate will have 3+ years job related experience with supervising over 15 direct reports.
• Digital press, bindery, and/ or technical experience a plus.
• Demonstrated the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and developed effective solutions.
• Ability to write concise operation reports with appropriate supporting graphical and presentation exhibits.
• Demonstrated Project and Process Management skills.
• Formal Process Improvement Training preferred (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma)
• Strong interpersonal/ communication and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel and MRP systems also a plus
• Able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., mobility to crouch, kneel, reach, bend and do repetitive actions with hands and arms
• Able and willing to work in other Production Departments on the Manufacturing floor when business needs
