Job Description: Shift Manager

As a Shift Manager, you will assist in executing daily operations activities. Depending on your certifications, you may also provide leadership in areas such as opening/closing, kitchen, and customer service. You may be responsible for overall restaurant effectiveness and may be assigned other managerial duties, including acting as the Ops Leader. See certification position descriptions below.

Responsibilities:
  • Train, monitor, and reinforce food safety procedures with crew members.
  • Act as Cash Manager when needed, including setting up cash registers at opening and verifying cash at closing.
  • Perform walk-throughs to ensure the restaurant is ready for opening, closing, or rush hours.
  • Collaborate with the management team to train, develop, and communicate with crew members and Team Trainers through team huddles and meetings. Supervise to maximize retention.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and delegate operational tasks, ensuring compliance with company policies to delight every customer.
  • Work with management to meet quality, production, and service standards, creating a safe and professional environment.
  • Help execute shift-specific procedures according to DOP. Assist in maintaining proper staffing to meet customer service standards.
  • Follow up on VOC issues to ensure resolution.

Your primary role is to supervise opening and closing responsibilities, ensuring compliance with cleanliness, food safety, and line setup. You will foster a productive, safe, and friendly work environment, mentor team members, and partner with management to optimize efficiency and profitability.

The Restaurant Kitchen Manager ensures quality standards are upheld, directly impacting the restaurant's ability to delight customers through service, production, quality, and food safety. You will mentor team members and pursue personal and professional growth.

The Restaurant Customer Service Manager's main goal is to create a service culture that delights customers. You will lead daily operations planning, conduct effective team huddles, and work with management to improve efficiency and profitability.

Education / Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • At least one year of restaurant experience.
  • Six months or more in restaurant, retail, or customer service roles.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, maintain professionalism, and handle customer concerns effectively.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform related physical tasks.
  • Availability to work all shifts and days, with flexibility to transfer or travel as needed.
  • Willing to obtain ServSafe certification by the end of training.
