Job summary

McAlister's is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee restaurant operations when the General Manager or Assistant Manager is not on duty, ensuring high food quality, service, cleanliness and safety.

We value hospitality and teamwork; the ideal candidate has 1+ year in casual dining, strong leadership, excellent communication, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in Casual Restaurant industry.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Servsafe license preferred or able to obtain.
• Strong leadership and goal-setting abilities.
• Availability to work evenings, holidays, weekends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee restaurant operations when GM/ASM not on duty.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

As a Shift Leader, you’ll oversee restaurant operations when the General Manager or Assistant Manager is not on duty. You’ll guide and support team members to maintain high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety. You’ll also handle guest concerns, supplier issues, and team needs, escalating matters to management when necessary.

What You’ll Bring (Requirements):

• A minimum of 1 year’s experience in the Casual Restaurant industry is required.
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Servsafe License preferred, or able to obtain a State-approved license – must be maintained per State Mandates.
• Strong knowledge of team leadership, developing goals and action plans for personal/professional growth.
• Availability to work within open hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends).
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow uniform standards.
• Remain calm in a fast-paced atmosphere and demonstrate a high level of organization, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
• Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude towards all guests – Live the McAlister’s Touch.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to withstand the physical demands a restaurant environment holds.
