Position designated to applicants under the EE Act
PURPOSE OF POSITION :
Manage the on-site Security Service Provider team
Manage the Contract Security in conjunction with the Security Manager on the following aspects :
- Regulatory Compliance to the National Key Point Act (NKP) and the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act (CIPA)
- Investigate and complete all required incident and investigation reports to the site manager
- Manage compliance with NKP annual training requirements, including 50 Period NKP Refresher and Reg 21 Firearm refresher training
- Ensure deployment of officers complete WAG 1 applications and submit to NKP for authorization
- Ensure employees complete necessary CRC vetting and Z204 forms for SSA clearance
- Participate in Security Risk, Threat, and Vulnerability (SRA) assessments and ensure closure of identified security action points
- Conduct regular assessments of Security team performance
- Manage all firearms allocated to the facility according to the Firearms Control Act (FCA)
- Develop and maintain a firearm competency expiry database and ensure renewal processes are initiated at least 120 days prior to expiry
- Ensure SSP employees are compliant with Reg 21 training requirements, including booking training providers and evidencing training conducted
- Manage all firearms registration, licensing, and daily allocations to staff, ensuring all posts have armed officers
- Oversee Service Level Agreement compliance, including deployment to NKP and HR/IR matters
- Ensure staff compliance with PSIRA regulations, maintaining expiry date database and renewal prior to expiry
- Manage the Uniform and PPE inventory, ensuring timely replacements
- Develop and maintain a training register, ensure timely training, and provide corrective plans for employees not yet competent
- Conduct Toolbox Talks, maintain records, and report monthly
- Implement site security plans based on alert levels and during unrests or protests
- Coordinate various training programs including SLA, regulatory, firefighting, first aid, and UNVPSHR
- Oversee On The Job (OTJ) training for SOPs and Emergency Response Plans
- Complete investigations related to security incidents and plan investigations based on referrals
- Manage staff health and safety assessments, site inductions, and OSHA compliance
- Handle SHEQ-related investigations and schedule building inspections
- Manage Loss Prevention System tools and related investigations
- Ensure security investigations are registered, conduct daily audits and inspections, and maintain check sheets
- Manage SMP officers, including daily inspections and activity reports
- Oversee management of ad hoc service requests, ensuring proper training of officers for projects
Qualifications / Attributes / Skills :
- Willingness to undergo polygraph testing
- Clean disciplinary, criminal, and credit records
- Own reliable transport and driver's license (Code 8)
- PSIRA Registered Grade A
Skills & Experience (Desired):
- Management experience (minimum 5 years)
- Experience in HAZMAT sector is advantageous
- Formal managerial training certification is advantageous

Package : R34,000 TCTC per month depending on experience and qualifications.
