Job summary

Steak ’n Shake is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily restaurant operations in the United States. This role offers pay up to $20.50 per hour, plus unique bonuses such as Bitcoin Bonus Pay and newborn matching benefits.

We are a Maximum Wage Employer with the highest hourly rates within 25 miles of our restaurants, plus bonus pay options. Beyond pay, benefits include Medical/Rx, HSA with employer contribution, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability, 401(k) with 4% employer match, and Next Day Pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• US work authorization.
• Supervisory or restaurant management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and guest service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations with energy, confidence, and accountability.
• Ensure strong openings and closings by setting up the team for success.
• Set the tone for the shift—motivate and coach team members for success.
• Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service that exceeds guest expectations.
• Ensure all brand standards are met - cleanliness, food safety, and quality.
• Handle opening and closing duties, including key-holder responsibilities.
• Count drawers, manage deposits, and finalize end-of-day reports.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members.
• Support training and onboarding of new team members.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on trust and respect.
• Step into any station as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
