Position Overview

The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or Assistant General Manager. They ensure the team understands goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, directives, and guest connections during the shift.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate mastery in performing team member duties with enthusiasm and excellence.
  2. Lead shifts focused on team engagement and guest satisfaction, embodying "Make Fun Happen".
  3. Strategically maximize product sales and manage waste.
  4. Maintain “total store vision” including appearance and ambiance.
  5. Understand deployment plans and associated roles/responsibilities.
  6. Communicate effectively on the floor during shifts.
  7. Proactively address team and guest needs.
  8. Prioritize and delegate shift objectives and tasks.
  9. Take ownership of current and upcoming shifts.
  10. Ensure SOP and quality standards are consistently met.
  11. Coach and give feedback to team members in real-time.
  12. Train team on responsibilities, products, and promotions.
  13. Complete administrative tasks with integrity (e.g., deposits, inventory, orders).
  14. Support team members’ development and discuss career growth.

Skills And Qualifications

Required:

  • At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience, or proper training/approval by Caribou Coffee.
  • Availability for early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements

Hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 4-8 hours, with or without accommodations.
