Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to drive operations, coach Team Members, and keep the restaurant running smoothly during rushes. You’ll lead shift management, uphold safety and quality, and partner with the Restaurant Manager to meet goals.

This role emphasizes leadership, coaching, and a strong customer service focus. Based at your home restaurant with opportunities to support nearby locations, this position offers a clear path for growth and a culture that rewards teamwork,

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays.
• Stand up to 10 hours and lift up to 55 lbs.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service and communication.
• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain during training.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Team Members to improve performance.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales, and inventory.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive culture.
• Prepare and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
