Job summary

Whataburger Restaurants seeks a Shift Leader to drive operational excellence and coach team members. You’ll lead shifts, train staff, and maintain quality, service, and cleanliness while fostering a positive culture.

You’ll manage food and labor cost goals, support sales performance, and ensure safety and compliance. This is a home-restaurant role with opportunities for growth and a defined career path within Whataburger.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, and variable hours.
• Able to stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs, and meet physical demands.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service and multitasking.
• ServSafe Food Certification (or ability to obtain during training).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Family Members to excel on the floor.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and inventory.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
