Job summary

Steak ’n Shake is seeking a Shift Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations with energy and accountability. You will drive openings/closings, motivate the team, and deliver fast, friendly service while upholding brand standards and safety.

The role requires strong leadership, mentorship, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; US work authorization is required, with flexible availability including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations with energy, confidence, and accountability
• Ensure strong openings and closings by setting up the team for success
• Set the tone for the shift—motivate and coach team members for success
• Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service that exceeds guest expectations
• Ensure all brand standards are met - cleanliness, food safety, and quality
• Handle opening and closing duties, including key-holder responsibilities
• Count drawers, manage deposits, and finalize end-of-day reports
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members
• Support training and onboarding of new team members
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on trust and respect
• Step into any station as needed to keep operations running smoothly
