A Shift Leader is an entry-level supervisory position responsible for supporting the Restaurant General Manager and Assistant Manager with the daily operations of a restaurant. The Shift Leader must embody the Wingstop culture and be a creative team player who is passionate about hard work, having fun, and demonstrating sincere dedication to the brand's success.
This is an exciting entry-level leadership opportunity with growth potential within the organization. No prior experience is necessary as training will be provided to prepare you for leadership roles and upward mobility to a General Manager position.
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- Preferred but not required: 1 year of supervisory experience in food service, retail, or restaurants.
- Food Handler Certification required upon hire.
- At least 6 months of experience using a POS system.
- Ability to meet restaurant policies and standards, including quality food, cash handling, and safety/security, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, late nights, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote the culture, values, and mission of Wingstop with integrity and honesty.
- Assist the General Manager in achieving store goals.
- Support operational excellence by driving sales and managing labor and food costs during shifts.
- Ensure a safe environment for staff and guests; foster a positive restaurant culture through respect, recognition, and rewards.
- Maintain composure during high-volume periods or unusual events, setting a positive example for the team.
- Build positive relationships with team members by understanding and addressing their motivations and concerns.
- Assist in all roles as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service with a guest-first attitude, responding to guest needs promptly.
- Follow cash management policies and ensure proper procedures are adhered to by the team.
- Resolve guest issues efficiently and positively.
- Maintain operational standards, report maintenance issues, and ensure facilities meet company standards.
- Use provided tools to coach, mentor, and develop team members, leveraging support from the Restaurant Support Center; ensure risk management standards are followed.
