Position Summary

The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the General Manager or Person In Charge (on duty) with management activities and duties. This role collaborates with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities align with and support the restaurant’s business plan, and ensures all Crew Persons and Team Leaders perform their responsibilities effectively.

Essential Functions

1. Provide a quality product and customer service experience that ensures total customer satisfaction.
2. Enhance the skills and performance of all Crew Persons.
3. Support efforts to maximize sales and profits, and minimize controllable costs by assisting management and leading shift activities.
4. Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding business and personnel practices.
5. Model and promote company shared values.
6. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts.
7. Attend training to stay current on industry trends.
8. Participate in company meetings, webinars, and conference calls.
9. Perform other duties or projects as assigned based on business needs.

Qualifications and Core Competencies

1. Approximately 2-3 years of experience and/or education demonstrating knowledge of restaurant management.
2. High School Diploma or GED required.
3. Excellent planning and time management skills.
4. Strong team-building abilities.
5. Investigative and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to troubleshoot cash handling issues.
7. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
8. Effective communication methods, including a telephone.
9. Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
10. Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

1. Fast-paced environment with kitchen equipment and tight spaces.
2. Stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and work around heat.
3. Lift 50-75 lbs. comfortably.
4. Handle various cleaning products safely.
