Role: Shift Leader

The Shift Leader leads by embodying Potbelly values, managing and developing associates to ensure product quality, customer service, sales, and cost control.

Qualifications:

• Desire to delight customers with great food and vibes
• Friendly, customer service-oriented
• Strong communication skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with noise and fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage allergens and handle heat in the kitchen
• At least 18 years old
• Preferred: 1+ year supervisory experience in food service or retail
• Ability to stand/walk for 8-9 hours, lift up to 50 pounds
• Food safety certification within 30 days (Illinois-specific requirements included)

Job Duties:

• Lead shift team, assign tasks, provide feedback
• Follow security and health standards
• Manage cash, prepare food, restock supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards
• Handle customer complaints

All Shift Leaders and Managers must pass a Food Safety Certification course.
