Position Summary

The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the General Manager or Person In Charge (on duty) with management activities and duties. This role works with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities are consistent with and supportive of the restaurant’s business plan. The Shift Leader ensures all Crew Persons and Team Leaders perform their responsibilities effectively and meet expectations across their job descriptions.

Essential Functions

1. Consistently provides a quality product and customer service experience that delivers total customer satisfaction.
2. Strives to improve the skills and performance of all Crew Persons.
3. Supports efforts to maximize sales and profits and minimize controllable costs by assisting management and leading shift activities.
4. Complies with all Company policies and procedures regarding business and personnel practices.
5. Models and encourages Company shared values.
6. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills with various contacts (internal and external).
7. Attends training to stay current on industry trends.
8. Participates in company meetings, webinars, and conference calls.
9. Performs other duties and/or special projects as needed in response to changing business conditions.

Position Qualifications/Core Competencies

• Approximately 2-3 years of experience and/or education demonstrating a strong knowledge of restaurant management.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Excellent planning and time management skills.
• Team building skills.
• Investigative and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot cash handling problems.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
• Effective communication methods and availability to meet restaurant needs.
• Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to implement process improvements.

Fast-paced environment involving kitchen equipment and tight quarters.
