Job summary

Thompson is seeking a Shift Lead for our Youth Residential Programs in Memphis to coach Youth Care Specialists, coordinate onboarding, and ensure smooth daily operations across sites. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care and collaboration with program leadership.

You will support scheduling, documentation, and audits while promoting excellence and integrity in service delivery. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Meet credentialing, licensing and privileging standards for the leading program(s).
• High School Diploma/G.E.D required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a residential youth operation or related child and family services.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care, child development, and crisis intervention.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software.
• Ability to work flexible 8-hour shifts including days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and feedback to Youth Care Specialists (YCS).
• Assist onboarding of new staff, including training coordination and badge setup.
• Serve as point of contact for YCS staff when Supervisors are off-site.
• Monitor daily operations across sites for staffing and shift coverage.
• Document youth interactions, shift notes and incident reports accurately.
• Assist in audits and ensure documentation meets standards.
• Monitor adherence to trauma-informed care and contract goals.
• Collaborate with Supervisors and DCS Coordinators to align staffing and service delivery.
• Participate in team meetings, hiring panels and planning sessions.
• Relay feedback from YCS staff to leadership for resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
