Banfield Pet Hospital in Woodstock, GA is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Shift Lead. A sign-on bonus is available for this location at Woodstock Square Ave. The pay range is $24.66 to $35.62 per hour, with final rate based on experience, skills and education.

The role includes leading the tech team, promoting preventive care, client education, and coordinating patient flow. Training, compliance with state laws, and opportunities to mentor staff are provided.

Qualifications

  • Certification or licensure as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT).
  • Preferred AVMA-accredited degree in veterinary technology (Associate’s or Bachelor’s).

Responsibilities

  • Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and preventive care.
  • Manage flow of clients and pets to maximize productivity and client care.
  • Provide professional service, educate clients about pet health, perform non-veterinarian procedures as allowed.
  • Assist with scheduling, documentation, and dispensing per veterinarian’s instructions.
  • Mentor and train paraprofessional staff; ensure proper medical charting and records.
  • Assist with surgery as applicable and maintain safety in treatment areas.

For a limited time, we are offering a sign‑on bonus for a full‑time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Shift Lead for the following location: Woodstock: 142 Woodstock Square Ave, Woodstock, GA 30189.

The pay range for this role is $24.66 - $35.62 per hour.

The pay range listed reflects a general hiring range for the area and the first level of the job, with the specific rate and sign‑on bonus amount determined based on the candidate’s experience, skill level, abilities, education, and may vary depending on location and minimum wage laws.

Role Responsibilities
  • Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services, Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care and pet health needs.
  • Manage routing the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
  • Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times, encouraging hospital visits, welcoming clients and pets, ensuring they are comfortable, educating them about their pet's health, performing or preparing procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance, completing preparatory work, and monitoring hospitalized or surgical pets.
  • Upon approval from supervising veterinarian, perform veterinary technician appointments under direction and supervision of a veterinarian and in compliance with state law.
  • Assist incoming clients by completing required documentation, entering pet information and history, utilizing proper collars and tags for identification, and ensuring prompt service.
  • Assist outgoing clients by providing instructions, information and invoices, dispensing prescription items per the veterinarian’s instructions, selling retail products and scheduling future appointments.
  • Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and utilizing proper opening and closing procedures.
  • Act as the extra eyes, ears and hands for the veterinarian to ensure the best quality pet care, maximize the veterinarian’s productivity and communicate with other associates to maintain patient flow.
  • Obtain relevant information and history from clients and maintain proper and complete medical charts.
  • Ensure the safety of pets, clients and associates by utilizing safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols, and maintaining clean, sterile and organized treatment areas, exam rooms and labs.
  • Assist with surgery as applicable.
  • Train and mentor new paraprofessional associates.
  • Quality check medical records, home medications, regulatory documentation, hospital cleanliness and timeliness of doctors seeing exam room patients.
  • Utilize technical skills to the fullest within state practice acts regarding the duties of credentialed veterinary technicians and conduct administrative functions as necessary.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Assist Practice Manager in developing an efficient, productive hospital team that provides the highest quality care and service, following all Banfield protocols and practices, as well as all local, state and federal laws, focusing the team to achieve practice priorities while building our culture and brand.
  • Support Practice Manager in hospital labor management.
  • May assist Practice Manager in the selection, training, and day‑to‑day supervision of the paraprofessional team.
  • Assist Practice Manager in creating an environment where a team can deliver quality, efficient and effective veterinary care.
  • Provide effective communication between associates, clients, hospital leadership and Central Team Support.
  • Ensure all hospital associates adhere to Banfield dress and grooming guidelines.
  • Prepare whole team on cases scheduled for the day, assist with any transfers of cases from the day before or external referrals to provide continuity of care, triage the treatment board.
  • Assist Practice Manager in identifying potential “bottlenecks” and formulate solutions to remove barriers in medical operations that would impede doctors in providing world‑class preventive care and client service.
  • Confer with field leadership and assist with client resolution decisions, invoice adjustments and client experience exceptions.
  • Address broken equipment issues and assist in inventory management.
Requirements

Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT).

Preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program.
