Job summary

Atoms is hiring a Shift Lead to own daily performance on the manufacturing floor and directly manage a team of engineering technicians. You will schedule work, unblock issues in real time, and ensure builds move through assembly, QC, and shipping on schedule.

This is a hands-on leadership role on the shop floor in San Francisco. You will partner with mechanical and electrical engineers to resolve build issues, coach technicians, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on hardware assembly or fabrication experience
• 1+ years leading or supervising a team
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments
• Ability to translate priorities into a daily plan for technicians
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand long periods

Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule a team of engineering technicians across shifts
• Own the daily production plan across assembly, wiring, PCB, and 3D printing
• Coach and ramp technicians toward senior roles
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers to resolve build issues
• Monitor quality and escalate systemic issues to engineering
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized shop space and enforce standards
• Own shift-level reporting on throughput and staffing needs
• Be hands-on with tools when needed and contribute to process documentation
