Job summary

Georgia Tech is seeking a Food Service Assistant to provide general kitchen support, including administrative tasks, delivery, cashiering, cooking, serving, stocking and dishwashing. You may lead the work of departmental staff and help set objectives, ensuring policies are understood and followed by staff and customers.

Regular interaction with culinary staff, vendors, students and faculty is expected. This position is not supervisory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or Vocational Diploma.
• Two to three years of job-related experience.
• Valid driver's license if required to drive on campus.
• Certifications: ServSafe Food Handlers and Supervisors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train team members on policy and procedure.
• Lead shift staff in food prep, cooking, and sanitation.
• Ensure food quality and station organization; follow daily prep sheets.
• Maintain and clean utensils, equipment, and work areas; report damage.
• Operate point-of-sale devices as cashier when needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Drive campus vehicles if required.
